Description

Architecture Operations D.P.C. with James Carpenter Design Associates was engaged by Woods Capital following their winning competition proposal to develop and execute a renewed identity for Dallas’ Thanksgiving Tower. This effort was focused on inserting a transparent and welcoming sense of light and to open visually link the ground floor lobby with the exterior public spaces surrounding the monumental tower.

The existing ground level envelope was replaced with transparent glass while light-responsive interior surfaces open up the tower’s volume to its surrounding public spaces. The material treatment of the original entry was also transformed to better broadcast circulation into the tower. The tower’s surrounding spaces are now transformed into a more open light filled amenity for the district.
